Onyx immediately backed away, and Amicheahika hopped off of her head. She lifted some stones into the air in case they were needed.

The rocks she had prepared quickly attached to one another in a rough brimstone shield. Behind the shield she was able to raise a few more pebbles and fling them over the top.

Leilani watched the way the earth moved, her eyes wide with freight. Something was moving below the ground, and chasing or eating all the prey. I must tell Bast right away! She tilted her wings in order to search for him.
