All of a sudden, there was a splashing sound from upstream. A mid-aged wolf appeared from underwater. He shook out his fur, then started to curl up and take a nap. While he was curling up, he noticed other wolves close by.

Entering the dark water pass, Raffiel tracked the hare scent until it simply vanished. He growled in confusion, pacing back and forth in an effort to find it. But it was to no avail, however a new scent trickled over his nose. Instantly Raffiel went on edge, it was a male wolf scent, fresh and not far. Lowering into a stalking crouch, he made his way to Lazarus, spotting him just a bit up ahead.

Belle caught the scent as well and mimicked Raffiel's stance. She creeped up a bit closer, now close enough to pounce.

Lazarus started to cower. He hadn't had that many wolves around him at one time before. "Don't hurt the pups! Kill me, but save the pups!" He shivered. "Actually, don't kill me. Please don't kill anyone unless you have to. Killing isn't nice." He looked at them, and sniffed. "Your scents seem familiar to me. Can I tag along with you guys?"

Belle looked at him as if he were psychotic. She quickly returned back to her emotionless stare. "You have pups with you?" she asked. "Are they yours?"

Raffiel made a face of confusion at the wolf but let his fur remain on edge. "Why are we to believe you are friendly?" He demanded, rising to his full height. Without hesitating he let his powerful muscles show, a low growl pouring from his chest.

"Please just trust me," whimpered Lazarus. "I don't want to get my pups' hopes down. Will you take me with you?"

Raffiel looked at him, uncertain as to what to do. Part of him didn't trust this wolf, instantly asking to be taken to the den. But then again there were pups. So then he nodded. "Alright, we'll take you." He barked, raising his head and letting his fur lie flat. Though his eyes glowered at Lazarus, showing just how much he didn't trust him.

Belle sighed and looked at Raffiel. "Well, he seems harmless enough," she whispered in Raffiel's ear so as to not let this new wolf hear.

He looked at her, obviously struggling with something but then nodded. "I suppose so. Just watch him though." Raffiel narrowed his eyes at Lazurus. "To many bad wolves are trusted to easily." He muttered, obviously thinking of Erebus.

"Chesster? Checker? Come here!" Two small pups, not even a year old, came from under a bush. "What is it, papa?" said the male. "These people are here to help us, Checker." said their father.

Raffiel looked down at the two opposite pelted pups. He blinked, instantly wanting to state how he instantly believed Lazurus. But really... he didn't. Just a bit more then he did before seeing as to how the pups were actually real. He turned away, taking a few steps. Obviously stating for him to follow.

"Come on, guys. Let's follow them." said Lazarus, turning back to his pups. "Coming, papa!" said the male, who was obviously Checker. "Yeah, alright, whatever." That had to be Chesster.

Raffiel looked back at Belle, wondering if she would follow them or later. But he couldn't just wait around. He went ahead padding towards the summer den, though the leaves stirred with orange now. Soon it'll be fall... He thought.

A small, young white wolf was padding along on the water's edge silently, exploring the strange new place. She could smell the faint scents of wolf, but it was extremely old and stale, and she knew that no wolf has come here in a long time. She smiled to herself as she enjoyed the solitude.

Xanthe, a young brown female wolf, was padding through the area. She had been hanging around here for a while, minding her own business and avoiding the pack that lived near here. She would eat off scraps of their left overs that they'd leave behind and such. Even though she was an excellent hunter and didn't really need to do so. The young female paused when she spotted a white wolf, her dark eyes going hard. She'd never seen this stranger before, so they must've not been a part of the pack that lived here.

Crystal's tail wagged slowly as she lowered her muzzle down toward the running water. She lapped up a bit of the chilling water before lifting her head up again to scan the area.
