Khora nodded, padding over to Shine. "Alright which paw?" She asked, peered down at her feet. "The spiders here are completely harmless, nothing more but for show." She added, remembering the days when her friend had gotten into a nest of spiders, the weird hairs covered his nose for hours before the healer JasmineSong finally got them out. A smile touched Khora's face at the memory.

Khora flashed Echo a warning glance. "Echo, I am more then capable with dealing with spider hairs. Especially ones that come from a spider that lives where I was raised. So yes, I do want to and I am able to." She responded in a tight voice.

Echo sighed. "Very well. You know Khora, I'm just concerned about you." He sighed again and smiled. "Might as well teach me while your doing it, right?" He said in an encouraging tone.

Khora nodded, gesturing with her tail for him to come over. "Have you already removed the spider hairs?" She asked Shine.

Shine shook her head. "I tried taking them out, but they were to small... Or I'm just that clumsy." she chuckled, and held her paw up.
Crescent stopped a bit ahead, looking back at his father. He hadn't meant to say that out loud... It had just tumbled out. He knew his father meant well, but he needed to stop hiding things. Wasn't it him who had brought Crescent and Shine up on the rule of 'Things are always best said, then held back.'

"Alright, hold your paw extra still ok." Khora calmly said, leaning in and carefully, gently biting into the first hair and pulled back. She spat it out onto the sand. "Alright, a few more." She said, repeating the process until they were each out. She swept sand over the hairs to keep them hidden. "Now you need to lick your paw for a little while, keep off it till we get to the woods. We'll find some cobwebs there and that'll do it."

"Sure! Thanks, ma'am! I don't know how in the world you managed that..."
"I believe honey could help, if we find any. It would make your paw tasty, encourage you to keep off it, and keep anything from accidentally getting infected. My dad taught me that it's one of the most useful materials, but is sadly hard to get."

Khora shook her head. "Its also dangerous to retrieve. Bears, honey badgers, bees. Plus honey is almost almost in high trees. I tend to stay away from searching for them." She added, "Cobwebs, can do fine though, so long as she doesn't use that paw to much for maybe a day or two."

"I heard that supposedly flat-faces keep tons of honey in their dens. Never could guess how they got it. Probably with all that... STUFF." he lifted a eyebrow in thought. "Dunno what they call it..."

"I'm with Khora on this one. Honey would be hard to retrieve in any case, as well as dangerous. I think we should just stick with cobwebs," Echo said.

Khora's pelt prickled at the mention of humans. "NO, the twolegged creatures should always be avoided!" She aid, swishing her tail in obvious agitation. Her eyes were clouded over with the memory of the human raid on her home. The way they dragged out bodies out to be sold for their pelts. The image of her father, the strongest and bravest wolf in the whole pack, just fall over dead atop the lookout cliffs. "They're more dangerous then bees or bears combined."

Asku nodded, deciding to stay quite. He had known the humans were dangerous. How had his birth family been separated? A single human. He had needed to test if the Golden Bloods had gotten to brave.
"Ready." Crescent said.
Shine nodded. "Yup, I'm ready to go!"

Khora gave them one last sweeping look, and then began leading the way back towards the summer den. "They're probably getting ready to travel to the fall den about now." Khora called back, sand falling beneath her paws, threatening to give way, but she paid no attention. Stepping with years of experience, she avoided the tumbling dune, and curved aroudn to a flater area of the desert. "So I'm not certain if they'll be there when we arrive."

"So where have you been all this time?" Khora asked Asku, already spotting oak trees on the horizon. She padded up another sand dune, smiling lightly at the green lizard that dashed away for fear of the huge wolves. Another gust of wind threw sand unpon their backs, and she closed her eyes, inraptured in the sensation. The smell of home flittered over to her nose, and Khora almost ran right to the cliffs. They're not my home anymore... She reminded herself. The woods are, with my packmates, and pups.

Echo began thinking about Belle. He needed to talk to her. "Hey Khora, how long do you think in will take to get back to the den?"

"Not to long, we're walking this time, and with a slightly injured wolf the pace will be a little slower. A few hours?" She suggested, obviously not certain on the number. "Could be less though, or more." She shrugged, "You in a hurry?"
