Lunar's ears flicked back and she shook her head, having second thoughts. "Actually.. I think it'd be best if I stayed here with Jaquelin..."

Dinae frowned. "Shouldn't have said anything." he mumbled lightly. He turned around and started a slow walk into the woods.

Lunar watched him leave, now cautious of this wolf. Of course! What was I thinking? No wolf would just offer shelter and food without wanting something in return. Echo was right... What am I even doing out here? What will I possibly learn?

"Damn it!" Dinae yelled as soon as he was out of ear shot. He swung his paw at a tree, digging his claws into the rough bark. He yelped in pain and quickly pulled his paw back. He examined it and noticed a claw missing. "God damn it..." he mumbled to himself. He hopped on three legs back towards the den. Now he needed her help and he wasn't sure if he would get it...

Lunar sat outside of the den silently, motionless as she listened to the sounds of the forest. She was debating on whether she should leave or not.

Dinae reached an area where he could see Lunar outside the den. He hesitated for a minute, thinking on whether he should go over or not. "I have to. He whispered to himself. He hopped over to Lunar, right front leg and paw tucked closely to his chest. By now he had blood matting his fur under his paw. "Hey..."

Lunar turned to look at Dinae quickly, almost shocked. Then she noticed his paw and all her cautiousness seemed to vanish. "What did you do?"

"Something stupid... Think you can help it?" Dinae held out his paw so Lunar could see.

She nodded, "I can try." She moved to get a closer look at his paw, then started licking the blood away so she could see what was actually wrong.

"Don't move," Lunar mumbled. Having licked off most of the blood, she then examined the wound and made an odd face. "Wow. You really got your paw good."

Dinae gulped. Then he sighed. "Can't hide it any more. I got mad at what I had said to you. After I saw your reaction, I dunno, I guess I thought you wouldn't even be willing to be my friend anymore. So I hit a tree, aaaaannnnnnd then the pain came..." he trailed off.

Lunar was sort of confused. Who would do that? She sighed and said, "I'll do what I can to help your paw.. Is there any Marigold in this forest?"

"Not directly, no. There are a lot of them in the plains to the east though. Maybe 15 miles away? Yeah, right around there."

Lunar frowned. "Alright.. Then I suppose I'll need to find a different way to help." Lunar sat down and looked at her paws, trying to remember her different options.
