The little dragon egg bobbed up and down in the currents of the lava, sometimes sinking out of sight...

Aken's eyes grew wide and he started making the lava shift around until the egg the at the surface then he scooped it up and looked at it closely. Should he kill it? Should he keep it as one of his treasures? Should he abandon it? Should he give it to someone else? What would he do now?

The little egg seemed to wiggle in fury when it was removed from the lava. IT WAS SO COLD OUT HERE!!! After a while it just drained Aken's heat though... Then everything was fine.

Duanne slunk up the opposite side of the volcano and saw Aken holding the egg. DANG! It looked so delicious... If only.

Aken dropped the egg and watched it closely, trying to make up his mind on what to do with it. Then he saw the other dragon out of the corner of his eyes and fury overcame him. He hated when another dragon came up here. With a big and easy breath, he blew out fire straight at the small dragon.

Duanne squeeled and made himself a shield of shadows. "DON'T MURDER ME! YOU BIG DRAGONS ARE ALWAYS KILLING US SMALLER ONES! WHAT GIVES!?!" he walked forward a bit, hoping it would make him look brave...

Aken laughed, "That's because you little ones need to learn to stay off our land!" He started stomping toward him, then remembered what Leilani had said and he froze in his tracks. He wasn't allowed to hurt anyone to anything now. Or he would die!

Duanne looked at him in puzzlement, then said. "Well... I have actually had a plan for quite some time. I've been thinking, what would happen if we dragons teamed up to share and defend a territory? It would surely benefit both. I've just, uhhhhhhhh... Never got close enough without almost being killed to ask..." he said, he didn't want to admit that he was scared to death of the bigger dragons. "'cause, I mean, I would pretty much get almost all the eggs I could eat, and it would be like having an extra pair of eyes for you. I could travel all around your territory and seek out danger, then report to you. Then you could just sleep all day, or whatever you like." Suspect

"Then what about the territory away from you volcano?" Duanne said "I could spy on your worst enemies for you, with my shadows. and much, much more."

the little egg shuddered once more,, from how cold it seemed out of the lava it was used to.

Leilani laughed, "I'm certain I told you already. Is your memory so bad?" She mused playfully, her jaw parted in a wide grin. Then she walked over to him, amber eyes twinkling. My name is Leilani. Her mind whispered to him, still playful.

Bast thought about what she said about his memory and thought that it could be possible. He had so many things going through his over-active mind that if she did tell him, it probably just slipped away. Bast then heard her voice say her name in his thoughts and couldn't tell if it was the memory of her maybe telling him, or her using her mind reading communication thing. He smiled to her and said, "Leilani... That's a nice name."

Aken liked the sound of that. He nodded once in response to the small dragon before turning away to go stare at the egg some more.

Duanne walked back into Aken's line of sight. "So, what is your name, highness? Mine is Duanne."

"Aken." Aken answered simply, moving closer to the egg to examine it better.

Aken glanced at Duanne then decided to make a quick decision. "Yes. It is mine."

Aken shrugged, "Do what you want. Just stay away from this egg."

"Yesssss... My master..." Duanne said, his eye twitching. He was only doing this so that he didn't die from this large brute. And so that he could come on the mountain anytime! He grined and walked off to terrorize the salamanders some more.

Leilani blushed. "Thanks, I friend once told me it means heavenly flowers. Kind of odd though." She snaked her head back and thought of what to say.

Leilani rolled her eyes a bit, Trust me, I know who you are. And, She paused for a moment and then said. well, as long as you will have me. I don't want to impose, but have no where else to go. Trailing a claw in the dirt a bit of water surfaced. She frosted it over, then fully iced it in one breath. Wanna see your fortune? I use to use my ability to see the near future to earn a living. Food, people are always will to trade food for knowledge. Anything you wanna know? She smiled at him.
