Aken arrived at the volcano and saw Dominic. He landed quickly and charged at him.

Bast nodded, "We will find whoever did this. We will..."

Dominic growled lowly, and turned to face Aken. "Finally some prey that won't run away like a coward!" He roared, and then recognized the dragon. "Fool! You dare forget that mark Leilani gave you! Harm anyone and she will do ten times worse!" His eyes burned with a sick pleasure.

Leilani licked his cheek, and then took flight. Her mind was extended, searching every living thing around to see if someone or something might have seen the attacker. She found one, a small little crab that was on the beach. It couldn't understand what it had seen, but Leilani did. The lesser mind could not resist her's as she pushed into its memories. She saw through watery blurred eyes, the ocean lapping just around her. A yellow dragon hunched on the beach talking to a black one. But these two were very familiar to Leilani. Then the black one attacked and she saw the horns and tail and sheer size. Pulling back from the crab, Leilani roared in fury. "DOMINIC!"

Bast took flight to follow. He heard her say that name, and his eyes flashed with anger. It was exactly like he had suspected. "Do you think you can see his thoughts? Or at least make him hear you, without knowing really where he might even be?"

Aken looked at Dominic with disgust, then a haunted grin cross his lips as he spoke, "You're the coward." Aken was smart. He knew a lot. A lot more than most do.

Duanne came out of hiding and screamed. Aken was here. "MASTER!" he yelled, and ran behind him. He lared at Dominic from behind Aken's leg.

Onyx finally reached a midway point about halfway up the volcano. She breathed loudly, and Amicheahika stared at her. "I could fix that... I could replenish your energy..." Onyx's face lit up. "Yay! Magic!" she kissed the little creature, and it did as it said it would.

No, He's closed himself off from me. Long time ago. Leilani said to Bast in their mingled thoughts.

Dominic shrugged. "As if I care, you do anything that could harm any dragon and she'll know and be here. Hope you haven't done anything bad yet." He taunted and took flight around the volcano.

"You would like that, wouldn't you?" Aken focused on the molten hot lava that was bubbling inside the volcano. Short amounts of it began shooting up, just out of reach from Dominic. "If I hurt you, she'd come running and find you here. That's what you want, isn't it?" Aken didn't look, nor pay attention to Duanne.

Bast caught up, flying next to her now, "Alright. You knew him. Where do you think he would be?"

Onyx sped up the mountain with newly refreshed energy, and charged straight into Aken's leg. "AAAAAGGGHHHHHHH!" she screamed, and Duanne dragged her back a bit. "No getting close. Or we'll get hurt." he whispered. Amicheahika nodded and stayed silent.

Leilani gave him a painful look. "I don't know, any-" She cut herself off, pain ripping through her body. "GAH!" She exclaimed, her wings folding as she barreled towards the ground. She just caught herself, hovering a foot above the pale water below. She was above the river, and let out a painful groan as her body instinctively showed her a vision. It always hurt when they brought themselves upon her and not the other way around.

Dominic growled. "No! I'd rather not see her ever again!" His claws dug into the hard rock, tail ready to snap and send out the large boom.

Aken hissed, "Then you better leave before I do something that will make her come here."

Bast followed, "Leilani?"

Dominic narrowed his eyes. "No... I think I'm fine right here." He said, plopping himself down on the stone.

Death, destruction, fire, lava, vile laughter, a black dragon. Leilani groaned again, the images becoming more fluid instead of broken, random pictures. Its Dominic, his talons wrapped around a heart, its a huge one, and the body of a wyvren dragon is right in front of him. Bast. Aken comes up from behind, snarling in pleasure and anger. "He was mine!" Aken growls. Dominic snaps at him, and the two look out over the land. Leilani is crouching by a cave, her talons holding an egg softly, her egg. The dragons take flight, many more pouring out behind them. "NO!" Leilani screams, blue scales covering silver. "NO!" Leilani screams in the real world.

Aken snarls in anger, knowing that Dominic was right about Leilani coming for him. He stayed where he was though. "Okay then. What is it that you want?"

Bast landed, confused as to what was happening to Leilani, he repeated her name dumbly, "Leilani?"

"You're strong, not as strong as me, but strong. If you want to get back to your old ways, you need a loop whole. I can be your means of 'harming others' and Leilani will never know. But we'd be partners. I wanna burn this land." He said.

"No..." Leilani was on the bank, writhering in pain.

Bast hurried over to her and wrapped his wings around her, trying to pick her up then best he could manage sense his wings were his arms, and wings are rather fragile things. "Leilani? Leilani what happened? Are you alright? Look at me."

Aken was suddenly intrigued. "You want to burn this land... Well, I want to burn Bast. I think we could work something out."

Onyx stared dumbly at her "father". She couldn't wait to play with him again! That was her only thoughts... Happy kid stuff...

Duanne listened intently, and so did Amicheahika.

Leilani's eyes slowly opened to look at Bast. She was confused and in pain, but one thing she was certain of. Dominic and Aken were planning something horrible. She nudged her head against Bast's. "Something horrible is happening. Aken and Dominic, they're plotting something." She whispered, her voice frail and weak.

Dominic nodded, "It would seem so." His eyes burned with a sick pleasure.

Dominic nodded somewhat. "Do you have control over the lava in the volcano?" He asked him, that would be a key part of the plan.

Leilani shuddered, "Death... destruction, and a burning of life." Her voice faded, she couldn't speak any longer.

"Good, then we can leave it to a random time and they cannot try to stop it for they won't know when it will happen." Dominic said, a gleam in his eyes of dark vengeance.

Leilani's eyes remained on his, and she drew in the sand his den. She needed rest, badly. Her eyes drooped closed, a dribble of blood came from her mouth.

Bast gently lifted her up. Bast's den wasn't far from here. He started carrying her toward the den. A few minutes passed and they reached the deep underground cave. Bast laid her down then crawled out of the cave, nervously. He wasn't sure what to do or how to help, or even if she would be ok. He didn't want her to get hurt worse.
Aken nodded, "Alright then. We'll get them when they least expect it. But until then, I need your word that you will not hurt the young dragon." He was talking about Onyx.

Dominic looked at Oynx. "Deal." He snorted, and then got to his feet. "I'm going to scout, see what all your turf is." Not even waiting for Aken's approval he took flight and left.

Leilani shivered where she had been laid down. Her eyes fluttered open and closed on occasion, it looked almost as if she had a fever. She whimpered something while she slept, her claws searching for something around her. "Bast..." She called out, still asleep but worried still.

Bast heard his name and rushed into the cave, "Leilani. I'm right here." He moved to her side, leaning down by her.

Feverishly, Leilani turned to him. Her eyes were closed, but her mind was open. Her tail wrapped itself around his left foot, and tugged once to make sure he was secure. Don't leave me... Her mind called out to him, and her eyes opened slightly. There was great pain in them. Her breathing was ragged, and short as she watched him with an intense fear.
